The BSE Challenge Trophy – Come and get it, if you dare...

Chapter Cup

What is the Chapter-Cup?

The BSE Chapter Cup is a challenge trophy. Official BSE Chapters compete against each other for the right to take the trophy home. Other Chapters challenge the current holder and try to win the trophy for themselves – until, well, until the next Chapter comes knocking and wants a shot at it. You can find more information in the Chapter Cup rules.

Of course, this is BSE after all, so fun, getting to know each other and spending time together are just as important.

Our Janina is responsible for organizing the Chapter Cup. Take a look at the core team to get in touch with her.

Rules

The whole point of it all

The Chapter Cup is not a bureaucratic marathon, but a sporting get-together among like-minded people.
The goal, as always at BSE: have fun, let the arrows fly, show your team spirit – and of course bring the highly coveted trophy back to your own place!

Who can participate?
  1. Any officially recognized Chapter of Extreme Archery may take part
  2. However, only the current title holder and the challenging Chapter compete for the trophy
  3. Other Chapters join in for the fun and the community spirit
  4. To make sure it is not a one-person show, at least 3 members of each Chapter must take part in the battle
  5. Only actual Chapter members count towards the result – no buddies, cousins, brothers-in-law or “I’m just joining in today” shooters. Of course, they are still welcome to shoot along
  6. Only shooters wearing their own official BSE Chapter shirt are eligible
How does a battle like this work?
  1. Whoever does not currently hold the trophy may challenge the reigning Chapter (contact the Chapter coordinator via the website)
  2. Whoever has just lost the trophy must sit out one round
  3. First lick your wounds – then come back for another try
  4. The location can be chosen freely – as long as there are 3D targets and enough room to let the arrows fly
  5. If several requests for a new battle come in within a short time, a draw will decide which Chapter gets the next battle (please get in touch with Janina)
  6. For shooters using sights or aiming devices (FU, BU, BBR etc.), a scoring factor of 0.9 is applied
  7. Shooting takes place from the usual peg – generally the furthest one back for sighted archers
  8. Depending on the selected mode, points are awarded
The mode – How is the shooting done and how are points scored?
  1. Before the start, you decide which mode you want to “duel” in:
    • Three-arrow round – for those who prefer to take it easy
    • Double Hunter – for those who want twice the fun
    • Hunter – for the brave (or the crazy)
  2. At the end, only the 3 best scores from each Chapter count
  3. The Chapter with the most points – meaning the combined score of its 3 highest-scoring members – wins. Simple as that
  4. If there is a tie: shoot-off
    • One target
    • one shooter
    • one arrow
    • whoever is closer to the inner kill wins
  5. If there is still a tie, the humor of the day decides
  6. The target for the shoot-off is chosen together by the shooters
Fairplay and Safety
  1. Of course, safety comes first – arrows belong downrange, not in your fellow shooters
  2. The rules of the venue apply at all times (we neither can nor want to override the rules of the course)
  3. The standard safety rules of archery apply as well – even if they sometimes slow the fun down a little
  4. Everyone shoots at their own risk
Trophy and honor
  1. The winner receives the Chapter Cup trophy as a symbol of “eternal” glory – at least until the next defeat
  2. Any Chapter that wins 3 battles in a row and defeats every challenger may keep the trophy permanently
  3. We will then get a new trophy so the fun can continue
  4. Two new chapters challenge for becoming the first owner of the new trophy
